How to Parade

Welcome to the Parade of Homes, a three-day event designed to showcase the newest innovations in the building industry. If you’re looking for a new home, planning a remodel or just want to spend the weekend viewing what local builders have to offer, this is the event for you. Here’s how to make the most of your experience.

1. Plan a Route – With 15 homes stretching from South Anchorage to Eagle River, that’s a lot of driving if you just wing it. Be efficient by planning your trip with our map. Identify your “must-see” homes and find routes that allow you to view multiple homes in the area, while also making sure you see all your favorites. And you don’t have to hit them all in one day, stretch it out over the weekend.

2. Take a Break – Community is what makes a house a home. Break up home tours with nearby activities.

  • Eagle River, visit the Eagle River Nature Center for a hike.

  • Turnagain, take a walk or ride on the Coastal Trail.

  • Sand Lake, enjoy the trails at Kincaid Park.

  • Potter Valley, take the kids for a stroll and look for birds on the Potter Marsh Bird Sanctuary boardwalk.

  • Northeast, play at the Polar Bear Playground at Russian Jack Springs Park.

3. Pack Right – Stock your car with water and snacks. Make sure that you have sunglasses and a phone charger. You can bring a mask and hand sanitizer for your comfort. To make things easy, wear shoes that are easy to slip off and on all day.

4. Be Social – Homebuilders are so excited to share their creations and we want to know what you loved! Take photos and tag the builders on social media. Share your photos so they can hear about what you found fascinating, and you may even get featured on their page!
